Sports success relies on coordinated movements of the trunk and pelvis. The Trunk Pelvic Roll, one of the Preferred Movement Patterns, combines these mechanics in one fluid sequence. During the Trunk Pelvic Roll, the upper trunk, lower trunk and the pelvis will roll in relative unison and in the same direction.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. On the bike, these “Pedal Reaction Forces” are the pushback from the crankarm resulting from the downstroke. The Trunk Pelvic Roll harnesses momentum, neutralizing the pedal reaction forces. When pedal reaction forces are neutralized, the athlete can deliver the optimal power to one crankarm while unloading the other.

The Trunk Pelvic Roll provides greater control over the bike, faster acceleration and greater efficiency of movement.
